Fore Birdies or Bogeys

Golden hour, brush script, a wedding ring resting on a golf ball. Loud, warm, a little sunburned. This is the kit — logo system, colors, type, voice, and how the illustrations work.

01 · The logo, tightened

Same script, cleaner system

Your original had three ideas fighting at once — flag, ball, box, underlines. Keep the brush script and the ball. Lose the box and the extra swashes. Then add a mark that can stand alone: the ring on the ball, which is the entire brand in one shape.

Do

One accent per lockup. Script for the name, Archivo for everything else. Clear space equal to the ball's diameter. On photos, always on the darkest quarter of the frame.

Don't

No outer glow, no box around "Bogeys", no gradient script, no flag and ring in the same lockup, and never set the script below 18px — use the badge instead.

02 · Color

Straight out of the sunset shot

Green and navy do the work. Gold is the light — type accents, stars, buttons. Ember is for heat: category tags and anything about the bar. Cream is the paper.

03 · Type

4 stars · we'd go back tomorrow

Never for body copy, never below 18px, never all-caps. Star ratings and big numbers always live here.

Archivo — headlines, body, labels
Six rules for playing 18 with your spouse

Body sits at 17–18px, 700 for headlines with tight negative tracking, 600 uppercase at 10.5px with 0.18em tracking for labels.

04 · Voice

Funny first. Honest second. Sweet at the end, once.

You're the couple everyone wants at their table. Short sentences, real details, a joke at your own expense before anyone else's. The tender line lands last and then you shut up about it.

Sounds like us

"The 7th is a bad hole and we both played it badly. Then the bartender remembered our order from Tuesday and all was forgiven."

Doesn't

"Nestled amid swaying palms, this hidden gem is a must-play bucket-list paradise for the discerning golfer."

05 · Imagery

Illustrated for you, photographed for the course

The illustrated golden-hour portraits are the brand's face — thumbnails, hero, merch, anywhere the two of you appear as characters. Real photography carries the courses and the food: wide, weather included, no filters. Never mix the two styles inside one frame.

Illustration rules

Always sunset light, always the two of you, FBB on the cart and the ball, glass of bourbon in frame.

Photo rules

Wide, horizon kept, weather welcome. One candid of you two per piece, never posed on the tee box.
